2014 Roger Brun Romance Rose Premier Cru

£ 79.50   Magnum, 1 x 150cl

About

Led by the charismatic ex-rugby player Philippe Brun and based in the village of Ay Grand Cru close to Epernay, House Roger Brun has a reputation for producing strong and bold champagnes made with a high proportion of Pinot Noir. This Rose de Saignee uses the “bleeding” method of producing rose champagne, whereby the grape juice is left in contact with the skins and seeds for some time to increase the concentration of the pink colour and show the winemaking finger print of Philippe. Its composition is 100% Pinot Noir, so the flavour is intense and the colour darker. Due to his respected reputation, Philippe also manages Krug’s vineyards in the village of Ay, as well as presses grapes for many respected Champagne houses like Charles Heidsieck.
