About

Domaine de la Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Wines have been made on this estate since 1264 when the family arrived from Italy to serve the pope in Avignon. When it comes to the history of the label, it features three hats, which signify the two bishops and a Pope in the family’s history, as well as a medal that was originally given by Napoleon after the Battle of Waterloo to one of the ancestors from the family. This medal still features on their labels today.
