2004 Reserve Familiale Grand Cru Ay Roger Brun

£ 90.50   Bottle, 1 x 75cl

About

Led by the charismatic ex-rugby player Philippe Brun and based in the village of Ay Grand Cru close to Epernay, House Roger Brun has a reputation for producing strong and bold champagnes made with a high proportion of Pinot Noir. Their prestige cuvee, the Reserve Familiale, was originally saved for the personal collection of the family. This unique wine features a special string and wax closure, traditionally used before the metal cage. The Reserve Familiale is made from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay and shows the skill and personality of Philippe, as well as what to expect from a Grower Champagne compared to a Grandes Marques. Due to his respected reputation, Philippe also manages Krug’s vineyards in the village of Ay, as well as presses grapes for many respected Champagne houses like Charles Heidsieck.
