July 1st marks the start of the 2019 Wimbledon Championships - the most beloved and anticipated event for tennis enthusiasts and sports fans alike. Throughout the two-week long tournament fans will cheer on their favourite contenders and toast each win with the fine bubbles of Champagne.
The match between Wimbledon and Champagne dates back many decades and has been poured in the bars and hospitality sites of Wimbledon during each moment of nail-biting angst and the celebrations that followed. In 2018 alone, over 20,000 bottles were popped open during the tournament, often paired with the iconic side of strawberries and cream.
This year, for its 19th consecutive year, Champagne Lanson is the official partner for this year’s championship.
